Weerstand maakt weerbaar
First of all, I hope to teach my clients the basics of strength training, think about big lifts like the squat, bench press & deadlift. This is because I think these lifts can form the basis of exercise. Should they master these lifts, many variations on them will be learnt in no time.
The above is important to me because I like to prepare my clients during, or after, our pt sessions in such a way that they can then carry out the programme independently. And thus have actually been able to teach them something, both technically and mentally. Because yes, what is training really?
In my opinion, training is not just clearing your head for a moment, it is the most uncomfortable moment of the day, to be able to enjoy all the comforts of our lives again for the rest of the day. In other words, push yourself during those last reps, because that’s where your growth lies.
I will also introduce myself, my name is Joel, 25 years old, and have been working at TrainMore for about 5 years now. I have been giving Personal Training for 4 years now, after finishing my Sports & Health studies. I specialised myself in movement pedagogy, and graduated in the meantime for my personal trainer certificates. During my time of being a personal trainer I kept learning, so I specialised myself in strength-, hypertrophy-, running- and sport specific-training. So, I’m ready to hit the next level together.
